7 Ridiculously Simple 3 Ingredient Desserts – Vegan Friendly!

Need a fast and easy dessert that your vegan friends or co-workers will be able to eat, too? If you’re craving a homemade dessert, but you don’t have the time or energy to pull out 15 different ingredients and concoct something in 12 “easy” (haha) steps. These awesome 3 ingredient desserts are just what you are looking for!

3 Ingredient Cherry Chocolate Dump Cake

This cake couldn’t be easier – or more delicious.

Ingredients:

2 – 20 oz cans of cherry pie filling 

1 – 18.5 oz box of devil’s food cake mix (Duncan Hines has several mixes that are vegan in their regular cake mix line.) 

¾ cup butter (or vegan margarine) – melted 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees 

Grease bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan (glass works great) with spray, butter or oil 

Dump pie filling into pan and spread out evenly 

Top with dry cake mix. Don’t mix in. Even out with the back of a spoon.  

Pour melted butter over the top to coat as much of the cake mix as possible. 

Bake 40-45 minutes until bubbly around the edges and mostly dry on the top. 

Cool at least 10 minutes before serving. 

Optional serving ideas. Serve topped with whipped cream, ice cream, powdered sugar or you can even frost this cake. Duncan Hines has 11 frostings that are vegan. Yum!

3 Ingredient Brownies 

Vegan & Gluten-free! Plus – people who aren’t vegan or gluten-free will STILL love them!  

Ingredients:

3 ripe bananas 

¼ c cocoa powder 

1 c crunchy almond butter 

Optional: ¼ t. cinnamon to mix in or sliced nuts to garnish

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees 

Grease bottom and sides of 9 x 9 square baking dish 

In medium bowl mash bananas with masher or fork until smooth.  

Add almond butter and mix until smooth. 

Add cocoa powder (and cinnamon if using) 

Mix thoroughly.  

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 20 minutes. 

Let cool completely before cutting.  

Your family will LOVE them and never miss the eggs and processed sugar.

3 Ingredient Coca-Cola Cake  

An old classic made super easy & easily made vegan!! 

Ingredients:

1 box devil’s food or chocolate cake mix (Duncan Hines has several mixes in their regular cake mix line that are vegan. I believe the devil’s food still is but double check the label.) 

1 – 12 oz can of Coke (or Cherry Coke for a Cherry Chocolate Cake) 

Chocolate frosting – (Duncan Hines has 11 kinds of vegan frostings. Take your pick!) 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  

Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.

Pour cake mix into a large bowl. 

Add Coke and mix until well blended. 

 Pour into prepared pan.

Bake according to baking directions on the cake mix box.  

 Orange slices and a glass of orange juice - for 3 Ingredient Orange Dreamsicle Cake

3 Ingredient Orange Dreamsicle Cake 

This cake totally tastes like a Dreamsicle and can be vegan with one simple switch! 

Ingredients:

1 box yellow cake mix (Duncan Hines has several mixes in their regular cake mix line that are vegan.) 

1c orange juice 

1 – 6 oz container plain or vanilla Greek-style yogurt (For vegans, use coconut based or other vegan yogurt.) 

Directions:

Preheat over to 350 degress

Grease 9 x 13 in cake pan

Stir the orange juice into the yogurt in a large bowl until combined.  

Mix in the cake mix. 

Pour into prepared pan.

Bake according to the baking directions on the cake mix box. 

Optional: Frost with vanilla frosting or, to really get that orange creamsicle feeling – serve with vanilla ice cream. 

 

3 Ingredient vegan fudge - squares of fudge on a plate

3 Ingredient Fudge 

This fudge is dairy free and easily made vegan. So fast to prepare! It only takes 5 minutes! 

Ingredients:

1 c  semi-sweet chocolate chips (be sure they are vegan if that’s important to you Simple Truth Organic chips are a good bet if you’ve got a Kroger’s nearby) 

½ c creamy natural almond butter (any nut butter will work, but almond butter is the mildest flavor so will taste more like “regular” fudge.) 

¼ t vanilla extract 

Optional: sea salt flakes or chopped nuts to top 

Directions:

Line an 8” loaf pan with parchment or wax paper. 

Add chocolate chips and almond butter to a medium sized microwave bowl. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between, until mixture is smooth. 

Pour melted mixture into lined pan. Tap pan to create even layer or smooth with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle with salt flakes or nuts if desired.

Pop into the freezer for 40-60 minutes. 

Cut into small squares and Enjoy! 

This will keep in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks – not that it will last that long!

3 Ingredient Chocolate Banana “Ice Cream” 

Technically this is a “frozen dessert” but it’s got a smooth and creamy mouthfeel to it like ice cream – so call it what you will. It’s vegan and delicious! 

Ingredients:

2 ripe bananas   

1 T cocoa powder 

Optional: 1 T peanut butter 

Directions:

Peel and cut up bananas and freeze overnight in a ziplock baggie. (It’s great to keep a couple of bananas frozen for this recipe or easy smoothies.)  

Blend frozen bananas in food processor or blender until smooth. Scrape down sides as needed.  

Add cocoa powder (and peanut butter if using) and blend until totally mixed. 

Serve immediately if you like soft serve, or pop back into the freezer for an hour or more if you like harder, scoop-able ice cream.

3 Ingredient Fruit Cocktail Cake

A variation on the dump cake that’s so simple! Plus you can make it with what you’ve got in your pantry. If you want to dress it up – bake it in a round cake pan lined with parchment so you can remove it (carefully!) and frost and decorate as you wish.

Ingredients:

2 – 15 oz cans of fruit cocktail (you can use a lower sugar or light syrup one if you want) 

1 – 18.5 oz box yellow cake mix (Duncan Hines has vegan choices) 

½ c butter or vegan margarine 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees 

Grease 8 x 11 glass baking dish 

Spread fruit cocktail (including juice) evenly in the bottom of the pan 

Sprinkle cake mix over the top of the fruit (don’t mix in). Even out with the back of a spoon. 

Drizzle melted butter over the top to coat as much of the cake mix as possible. 

Bake for 45 minutes.  

Optional – top with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream
